This is a major holding pool and usually has a fish or two in it from early season. By the end of September it can be stuffed with fish. Fly-fishing can we worthwhile in some water heights but the majority of fish are caught spinning. In low water get in quietly at the steps and wade gently down all the way to the weir. This can be quite deep even in very low water, so take care and if you are not a strong wader, stay on the bank for this one. It is quite easy to fish with a spinner and in normal water will hold fish right down to the dead oak. In very high water fish have been caught below. Be careful of the sww inlet opposite the end of the weir; many a spinner has been lost on it.
