This can be one of the most productive pools. Fish hold up here in all heights of water and can take quite freely. The technique we use is to get in where it is easy and make your way upstream on the shingle and fish from above the junction right through to the tail. In low water the fish hold in the neck and belly of the pool, in high water they tend to drop back to the tail. A good low water technique is to fish a small mepps upstream from the bottom. Fish will often come out of the backwater on the right hand bank and grab it.
